What’s new in nougat?
If you are wondering why there is hype all around nougat, then a little peek into the main features of Android’s latest delicacy will do you justice. They include;
- Easy switching of apps; with this feature, you don’t need to go through the whole list of the recent apps to locate an app you recently used. Simply double tap the Overview button and you will be taken back to the most recent app. This works even when you had another app open.
- Easy notification control; if you’re tired of receiving notifications from certain apps, nougat has a solution for you. Rather than controlling all applications and their notifications in one place, you can now control them on an app by app basis. Simply move the notification slightly to the right then click on the gear icon then determine how to receive the notifications from that app.
- Multiwindow mode; this is probably the most useful of all nougat features. You can now natively use two apps side by side on your device. To do that, open one app then click and hold the Overview button. The app you are using will be moved to the top half of the screen while the lower half will show recent apps that can be used to fill the lower half. You can then pick the second app and move the border between them to resize the apps as you please.
