Smartphones that we use on our daily basis, are wonderful digital devices carefully and technologically crafted to meet our likes and usage standards. Smartphones have operating systems that enable us to use our phones by creating a form of communication between the user and the hardware parts of our mobile phones. These operating Systems are programme files programmed and written into our phones to help execute commands to the phone’s hardware. The programme files running our smartphones are created in parts. Every programme has files that are associated with a particular functionality of your smartphones. For MTK Android smartphones, these files are called scatter files. Whenever your Android smartphone runs into a problem, we use these files to flash our phones with to restore them back to their normal operational conditions.

When our phones are manufactured in the factories and carefully packaged to us, they already have everything pre-installed to fit exactly with our basic smartphone user needs. But sometimes things go wrong and at some points, they fail or crush requiring us to re-install the programme again called firmware or stock firmware. Stock firmware is usually downloaded from the internet. But not all the time you will find your firmware on the internet. This may leave you with no option other than just buying another phone or taking it to the service centre. This will help you create your own scatter file and back it up somewhere so that in case you run into a problem, you can flash your MTK smartphone with it.

How to Create a Scatter File For MTK Smartphone Using Droid MTK Tool

Droid MTK tool is a very handy tool in this process. Droid MTK tool will help you extract or create a Scatter File for MTK smartphone. The first step you need to do is to download and extract Droid MTK Tool. You will need to have an MTK Android smartphone. If you don’t know or if you are not sure which chipset your smartphone is, just search for your phone’s model online for specifications. You will also require having a working USB cable and a computer. Follow the following steps on How to create a scatter File for MTK Smartphone Using Droid MTK Tool.

Step 1.

As I have mentioned earlier above, you need to have a computer. Download, extract and run Droid MTK tool on your computer. Remember this is a MUST because Droid MTK Tool is the software that you will use to extract and create a scatter file for your MTK smartphone.

Step 2

In this next step, you will have to enable USB debugging on your MTK smartphone. This is to make sure that your phone can be accessible through ADB. USB debugging is found in your phone’s settings under developer’s options. If you can’t see developer’s options in the settings, go to “about phone” then double tap build number continuously until you see “you are now a developer” developers’ options are enabled. Now go back by touching the “back” button to go back to settings. You will see developers’ options. Tap on it and enable USB debugging.

Step 3

Now, having opened your Droid MTK Tool and enabled USB Debugging on your Android MTK smartphone, connect your phone to your computer via your USB cable. Immediately your MTK phone is detected, Droid MTK Tool will display the information about your phone. On Droid MTK Tool interface, click on Blocks Map button. A screen will come displaying all the partition information for your phone’s stock firmware.

Step 4

This is now the final step. On this screen, you will see all the system file partitions for your Android smartphone. Click Create Scatter file button below. Select a folder where you would like to save your scatter file to and wait until creating scatter file is complete. It may take some good time. After your scatter file is saved successfully, disconnect your phone from the computer. Open the folder in which you saved your scatter file. You will see it below.
